MDA JOINS FORCES WITH SALVATION ARMY’S
“ANGEL GIVING TREE” PROGRAM
Tucson, Ariz., Nov. 24, 2003 — The national headquarters of the
Muscular Dystrophy Association will serve as one of the official drop-off
locations for the Salvation Army’s “Angel Giving Tree”
Program.
New, unwrapped toys, books or sporting equipment for children and teenagers
may be delivered to the MDA lobby, 3300 E. Sunrise Drive, weekdays between
8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., through Dec. 18.
This year MDA staff members in Tucson are joining KGUN 9, MDA’S
“Love Network” station that airs the Jerry
Lewis MDA Telethon on Labor Day weekend, in support of the “Angel
Giving Tree” Program, which provides holiday gifts to local area
children in need.
MDA is a voluntary health agency working to defeat more than 40 neuromuscular
diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive services,
and far-reaching professional and public health education. MDA’s
national headquarters have been located in Pima County since 1991.
