MDA Increases Equipment Repair Allowance

The Muscular Dystrophy Association has increased the annual amount it provides for repair of a wheelchair or set of leg braces for people registered with the Association.

The increase from $300 to $500 per person per year is part of MDA's comprehensive program of services for people affected by more than 40 neuromuscular disorders.

MDA's other services include assistance with purchasing wheelchairs and leg braces. In addition, through its local offices, MDA maintains loan closets offering adaptive equipment such as walkers, canes, hydraulic lifts and hospital beds.
