TUCSON, Ariz. — Justin Moy of Concord, Mass., will be featured on the national broadcast of MDA SHOW of STRENGTH this Sunday, Sept. 2.

Justin, 12, will have his “story of strength” told on the three-hour, prime-time show broadcast scheduled to air on 150 “Love Network” stations across the country. WCVB, ABC Channel 5, will broadcast the show in the Boston area.

Justin has a simple philosophy on life: “Take life at its best and live life to its fullest.”

Justin is affected with congenital muscular dystrophy (CMD), a generalized muscle weakness with possible joint contractures resulting from the shortening of muscles. He enjoys singing, swimming, playing video games and collecting coins. Justin uses a power wheelchair for mobility.

Justin has a particular interest in science and would like to be a biochemist so he “can try and work for the Muscular Dystrophy Association to help find a cure for muscular dystrophy,” he said. “It’s important to help everyone with muscular dystrophy. It’s a big problem. Everyone deserves help.”

“Justin has a wonderful, loving family who is showing its strength in helping this brilliant young man face the daily challenges presented by congenital muscular dystrophy,” said MDA Interim President and Medical Director Valerie Cwik, M.D. “I know our viewers will be deeply impressed by Justin’s maturity and articulate qualities, and they’ll share my admiration for his superb goal of bettering humanity by one day joining the ranks of neuromuscular disease researchers.”

‘Stories of Strength’

The MDA SHOW of STRENGTH will feature six “stories of strength” told from the individuals’ and families’ perspectives.       

In addition to Moy, the other profiles are: Veronica Niño, 45, of Friendswood, Texas; Angela Wrigglesworth, 35, of Houston; Kennedy Healy, 17, of Omaha, Neb.; MDA National Goodwill Ambassador Bryson Foster, 12, of Concord, N.C.; and Latondra Chappell, 14, of Charlotte, N.C.
