
Frank Lombardi, 54, of Leesburg, Va., received a diagnosis of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT) in early adulthood. Married with one teenage daughter, he works as a senior industrial security representative for Lockheed Martin. With more than 30 years of diversified industry experience and training, Lombardi is considered an expert in government personnel security policy, operations security and related security disciplines.
Lombardi serves on several local and state disability boards, and is a champion for MDA. Through the years, he's been involved in almost every aspect of the MDA community, including hosting an annual MDA fundraising event, supporting the Heartsongs Gala, Lock-Ups, MDA Muscle Walk (where his band plays), MDA summer camp, participating in the local broadcast of the MDA Telethon and much more. He attends the MDA Clinic at Georgetown University Hospital Center and received the 2004 MDA Personal Achievement Award for Virginia.
He currently serves as chairman of the Loudoun County (Va.) Disability Services Board. Lombardi also serves at the state level as a member of the Commonwealth of Virginia Disability Services Board and is a longtime member of Network of Volunteer Associates (NOVA), Greater Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area Chapter. In addition to his career endeavors and community service interests, Lombardi sings and plays the drums in a local classic rock cover band. Over the years, his band has volunteered its time and respective talents supporting many different MDA fundraising and public awareness events.
