Heather created this painting at age 16 at an MDA-sponsored children’s art workshop. She graduated from St. Thomas Episcopal High School and attended college in Houston.

Daniel created this artwork at age 9 at an MDA-sponsored children’s summer camp in 1991. His hobbies include basketball, swimming and fishing.

Brooklyn-born artist Ed Friedland served as chairman of Krell Software Corp., a creator and manufacturer of educational computer programs. Formerly a political science faculty member at the University of California, Berkeley and senior staff officer at the National Academy of Science, Friedland was the author of numerous works on public affairs.

A painter for many years, Warren experimented with different media. This painting, an acrylic done from memory, depicts the entrance to the east passage of Narragansett Bay as viewed from Brenton Point.

Sarah created this mask at age 11 inan MDA-sponsored children’s art workshop held October 30, 1993, at the National Museum of American Art, Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. She served as the MDA Goodwill Ambassador for Maryland in 1993 and 1994, and is an active volunteer for several organizations.

Melody studied art at a local college. She works in acrylics, pastels, mixed media and watercolor. Melody has been painting as a hobby for several years and has received numerous awards.

Samuel created this artwork at age 10. He served as the 1998 and 1999 MDA State Goodwill Ambassador for North Carolina. Samuel graduated from high school in 2008 and attends college.

Matthew has been painting for many years. He has a master’s degree in education and teaches art in an elementary school. Matthew pasted together several snapshots of downtown Albany and then created this painting.

Les became a full-time artist at age 50. Unable to hold a paintbrush, he relied on his acclaimed “drip method” of painting. By dripping and pouring pools of different colors onto a canvas and maueuvering it with his hands, Les produced amazing patterns and dynamic images. He shared his love of art by teaching children with disabilities. Les’ works have been presented in numerous New York and Long Island exhibits.
