Coltrane Playing My Favorite Things by Tommy Roberts Tommy began creating art in childhood. He has a bachelor’s degree from the Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore. Tommy’s work has been exhibited at jazz festivals, museums and galleries throughout the country. His subjects cover a wide range from the beauty and gracefulness of ballerina’s to the speed and power of horse racing, and also captures the essence of some of the world’s greatest jazz musicians.

Come Fly with Me by Martin Lauer Martin became interested in drawing in high school. He constantly was “doodling” on any type of paper with colored pencils, pens or markers. Doodling became his therapy. It usually takes Martin four to six months to complete a work. He attempts to invoke happiness, pleasure and well-being in each of his pieces.

Discovering Gold by Elizabeth Shirk Elizabeth has a degree in Graphic Communications from San Diego State University. She first specialized in printmaking and received numerous awards for her works, including Best of Show. Since 1990 Beth has worked in watermedia and she frequently has works in juried exhibitions. Her husband, Mike, also has paintings in the MDA Art Collection and they both are members of the San Diego Watercolor Society.

Doilie Symphony II by Elisabeth Preble Elisabeth received a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern College in St. Paul, MN. She began creating artwork as a toddler as soon as she realized paint was not something to eat! Her artwork has won awards in juried shows and she was the winner of the 2008 Neurology Now magazine art contest. Along with creating artwork, Elisabeth enjoys reading, good tea and she’s a comic and Renaissance Fest fan.
