Tree of Life

Harry was an accomplished artist in various mediums.  He received a Master of Fine Arts from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and worked in graphic design.  Harry’s works have been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums and several pieces have been seen internationally.

Twilight in Paradise

Bill was a retired high school teacher and author of two plays and a children’s novel. This artwork was inspired by Bill’s interest in creating scenes with a Western motif.  He donated two other paintings to the Art Collection.

Diane has had many one-woman shows at art galleries in Monterey, San Francisco and the Bay area as well as in a one-woman show at Nordstroms in San Francisco.  Her work has also been part of an annual show at the Alameda Historical Museum.  Diane is a long-time member of the Alameda Art Association.  For 13 years she served as chairperson of an MDA-sponsored support group in the San Francisco area.

Jennifer worked in photography for many years and switched to painting when she became unable to handle large cameras.  She began painting in oils and currently works in soft pastels.  Her artwork has been exhibited in numerous shows in Colorado and Nebraska, and she has works in private collections.

Robert's love for painting and architecture began as a child.  After moving to Hawaii in 1989 he concentrated his painting on preserving Hawaii's heritage and style and painted churches, storefronts and beach scenes..  Robert received a Hawaii State award for a magazine cover illustration of the Waioli Hui'ia Church which appeared in Kauai Business & Real Estate Magazine.

A. in English from California State University, Sacramento.  She has received awards for photography and painting.  Jan has also authored numerous articles and two books, and is a member of the MDA National Task Force on Public Awareness.  She was named the 2001 MDA National Personal Achievement Award recipient.

Jay received a master’s degree in studio art from Webster University in St. Louis, Mo. in 2003. His works have been shown in galleries and other venues in St. Louis and Houston, TX.  This photograph of Vietnamese water lilies was taken at the St. Louis Botanical Gardens.  It was then scanned and manipulated to create the final piece.
