Blogger - Angela Wrigglesworth

Fourth-Grade Teacher
Houston, Texas

Angela Wrigglesworth, a Houston native and 1999 graduate of Texas A&M University, is a fourth-grade teacher in the Klein Independent School District and recently received her graduate degree in multicultural urban special education from St. Thomas University in Houston.

She has received numerous teaching honors over the years, including being recognized in 2005 by Who’s Who Among American Teachers, and being awarded the 2004 Houston Chronicle Crystal Teacher Award, in which she and five other educators were selected out of 1,600 nominees for their outstanding teaching abilities.

Angela, who has spinal muscular atrophy, takes advantage of every opportunity to “use the strengths I have.” She has been an active volunteer with MDA for many years in addition to serving on the MDA National Task Force on Public Awareness. She also serves on the board of directors for Camp For All, a barrier-free outdoor recreational facility for children and adults with chronic illnesses and disabilities. Crowned Ms. Wheelchair Texas 2004, she is the state coordinator of the Ms. Wheelchair Texas Foundation, and passionately supports its mission of empowering women with disabilities.

As a keynote speaker at events around the country, Angela has been able to share her philosophy, borrowed from basketball coach John Wooden: “Things turns out best for those who make the best of the way things turn out.”

Angela also will be sharing her unique perspective through her daily blogs about the Clinical Conference.
